Okay so Zuke and I are brainstorming and I figured why not reach out to all of you wonderful smarties?! So if y’all (yup..I said y’all) haven’t already checked out Garden of Music, the CD with nine of Zuke’s super talented singer songwriters that benefits AmpleHarvest.org, you best go check it out!
What we need your brains for is how the heck can we promote and market this amazing CD?!!??!
Any ideas?!

So all my life I’ve loved make up and fashion and aside from the one bout in middle school where all I would where was hot pink lipstick and thick blue liner, I’ve been really good at it! Like a line of girls out of my dorm room wanting their make up done! So what to do with a passion and hobby?! Turn it into a business of course!
Anyway, I just started with Mary Kay and if you were like me and thought Mary Kay is just for old people and women who want to drive pink cars, then I’m here to prove you wrong…it really is an amazing company with gorgeous colors and great skin care!
So since I’m a newbie with the company, I need faces to work with… it’s an all out pampering session for you and friends completely for FREE! I mean what girl doesn’t want to get pampered?! I’m also an image consultant, so if you’re not sure what works for your body type or just want to freshen up your wardrobe, let me know!
If you’re interested in a pamper session or just want to ask some questions about make up, skincare, or style, message me here or email me at kelly.slagter@yahoo.com

So Zuke is giving a 12 year old girl her very first voice lesson right now! Oh my goodness I can still remember how nervous I was when I took my first lesson at 11..between the what the heck are these weird exercises and ahh I think I love this thoughts, it was definitely a day I will always remember!
How about you my fellow singers?! What was your first vocal lesson experience like??

Such truth right there!

If you haven’t checked out this website and are even remotely interested in fashion, go on now! It’s all real people from around the world uploading pictures of themselves and their own personal style…when I first discovered this site I was on it for 5 hours! Addicting. You’re welcome fashion-savvy procrastinators.

Hey guys!
Sorry it’s been a while since my last post! So this morning Zuke and I were talking about how singing is such a gift and that sharing this gift with others is a must. She used the phrase “tithe your own gift” which I totally related to! In the Bible, God says to tithe (or give back) 10% of your earnings to His mission so that it can help touch the lives of others. I like to think that the money is already His so it makes sense to give some back- and 10% is such a small amount but if everyone did it think of how many different people could benefit?! Like tithing your earnings, it makes sense that if God gives you this amazing gift to touch people with music and if you keep it to yourself what benefit does that do for the world? Just think- if everyone shared only 10% of your gift with the world how much good can come from it!
One of my favorite quotes that relates to this is from Bernard Meltzer: “Use the talents you have. You will give joy to the world. Take this tip from nature: The woods would be a very silent place if no birds sang except those who sang best.”
What about you? What do you think “tithing your own gift” means? :)
